Quick Start

This guide will get you up and running with Yoink AI. It covers everything from installation and setup to using core features.

Intro to Yoink AI

Yoink AI is a macOS app that brings AI directly into any application or website. It's designed to help you write and edit without breaking your flow, all while maintaining control.

To activate Yoink AI, press ⌘ shift Y anywhere on your Mac. You can use Yoink AI to:

  • Draft and reply to emails or messages
  • Write or update existing documents such as Product or Engineering documentation
  • Brainstorm ideas and restructure documents
  • Write marketing copy for social media

Yoink AI is currently available for macOS. You can download the latest version from our website. If you are a Windows user, you can join the waitlist to be notified of our upcoming release.

Using Yoink AI

The core Yoink AI workflow is designed to be fast and simple:

  1. Start : Launch Yoink AI anywhere by using the hotkey ⌘ shift Y . Yoink AI automatically retrieves the content of the underlying document or text field, if any.
  2. Prompt : Type a short command or question in the prompt box. You can also provide additional information for Yoink AI through screenshots, documents, or Voices to steer the style of the output.
  3. Review : Yoink AI generates its changes as suggestions. You maintain full control to accept or reject these changes before applying them.
  4. Apply : Accepted changes are then applied directly to the underlying document or text field. You can then continue the conversation with Yoink AI for further edits to your document.

Yoink AI remembers the history of your current session, allowing you to have a conversation and refine your text iteratively.
